WHO ARE WE?I was born in Auckland, NZ. Both my parents were in the Air Force at the time; I spent much time on the base. At the age of 5, we got posted to a small town at the top of the South Island call Blenheim; this was to be my home for the next 20 years. Growing up, I loved playing rugby/league and softball, making different representative team along the way. Blenheim was such a beautiful place for growing up. On the weekends, I would also enjoy fishing and swimming in our beautiful rivers, and skiing in the winter.
Throughout my school years, I really enjoyed woodworking. I knew this was something I wanted to procure. Fortunately for me, our next-door neighbor was a builder with an excellent reputation around town. After school, I would always go over to his place, watch and help as he was renovating his own home. Our relationship grew, and he could see how keen I was to be part of this craftsman trade. At the age of 15, I became an apprentice carpenter under the leadership of Ron Davis, a thriving residential builder based in Blenheim. |
